The Foster Family Resource Center of Southern Illinois is an IRS 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization which provides a variety of services for foster families with new children in their care as well as those with long term placements.
We provide — completely free of charge — items to meet immediate needs which families receiving new foster care placements — will need but may not have to care for the child or children in their care. We primarily assist families with new placements (usually within 90 days of a new placement) and verify placement with Illinois Department of Child and Family Services paperwork or through caseworkers.
Items provided by the FFRCSI may be limited and usually include one or more of the following: diapers, formula, clothing, shoes, beds, cribs, bedding, car safety seats and personal care products as these items are often needed immediately. “Immediate needs” usually does not include strollers, swings, diaper bags, toys and other items.
Additionally, the FFRCSI has other programs and services (such as our dental care program) to assist foster families in our service area. Please call or email us for more information.
